Information provided on this page concerning Washington State Wenatchee National Train Day 2012, is intended for event development, planning dialogue, discussion to clarify programs proposed, provide educational materials and to foster public interest from business community and interested citizens to join the "Planning Committee". Along with providing event information that is proposed, to allow interested parties who wish to provide "Exhibits and Displays" the opportunity to plan and become involved in the pre-planning process and prepare for this magnificent event. Organizational Leadership is important, cooperation from civic leaders is also important, as well as the Business Community to recognize, support and sponsor this magnificent public event.

Washington State Wenatchee National Train Day 2012 Planning Committee Membership is the means by which citizens, merchants, businesses, civic leaders and industry can make a difference in our communities, neighborhoods, cities and towns to bring renewed interest in our rail transportation system.

Please take the opportunity to become involved in this event, by sharing your ideals, encourage our civic leaders to foster the necessary leadership and from community individuals to take the opportunity to participate in planning committee membership to creating an event that will benefit our community.

WASHINGTON STATE NATIONAL TRAIN DAY MISSION STATEMENT

Washington State National Train Day Association herein establishes Statewide Rail Line Community National Train Day Events, under the National Train Day Resolution established goals that contribute to enrichment of rail line communities of Washington State toward our mission and organizational development:

  • To use Washington State National Train Day Association to promote increase knowledge and understanding of Washington State rail line community, as in railway arts, literature, culture and railway transportation importance to our economy, including our connection to National Railway System;

  • To use Washington State National Train Day Association to develop a "Awareness of Washington State Rail Line Communities" and importances of passenger and freight services throughout Washington State Rail Line Communities;

  • To use Washington State National Train Day Association to expand all Rail Line Communities National Train Day Events in Washington State by: education, citizens awareness, business opportunities, technical research applications and mutual understandings within our local, regional, national and private railway servives.

  • To build upon a framework of past and present technological advancements towards achieving a better environmental utilization of our railways that benefits each citizen's requirements for transportation needs in a green environment less dependent on fossil fuels thru National Train Day Celebration in Washington State.

    WENATCHEE, CHELAN COUNTY, WASHINGTON recognizing the vast diversity, economic development, productivity and contributes to Wenatchee's growth that railway transportation system, networks and services has provided Wenatchee, Chelan County Washington. Where our citizens and commerce needs for effective and efficient railway transportation throughout the North American Continent, keeps this great city a spirit among international and national economy moving, and strengthens the State of Washington's mobility and security.

    ON WENATCHEE'S RAILWAY TRANSPORTATION MONTH and during Wenatchee Railway Transportation Day, all Washington State Railways, including All Railroads and North American Continent Railway Systems, Private and Public Passenger are encourage to board trains of all kinds past and present traveling to the "Apple Capital Destinations" in Wenatchee, Washington. Celebrate with the citizen of Wenatchee how modern railway transportation has transformed this city and recognize the men and women who have contributed to its progress. As the City of Wenatchee renews the commitment to increasing railway transportation productivity and commerce of all kinds to keeping City of Wenatchee railway transportation system on the leading edge of importance as the Apple Capital Destinations.

    CITY OF WENATCHEE'S CENTURY OF RAILWAY TRANSPORTATION system of commerce and productivity transports our citizens and delivers a wide range of goods throughout the State of Washington to the Nations of the North American Continent and the world imports and exports. In times of national and state concerns of the century, the railway transportation system also moved troops, passengers and carried materials and general cargo in war, in disasters, in peace time tranquilly efficiently and effectively. The City of Wenatchee's Heritage in preserving and enhancing the next railway century of transportation systems. Rail line community commerce resources makes the railway infrastructure, to facilitates growth in business and industry, creates employment opportunities, secures the State of Washington future, and improves the quality of life for citizens of Wenatchee, Chelan County, Washington and all rail line communities served.

    TO SUSTAIN WENATCHEE'S RAILWAY HERITAGE & FUTURE ADVANTAGES,must continue to invest in Wenatchee's, Chelan County and improve all rail line communities in Washington's railway transportation systems. By enhancing existing rail line community tracks, rail yard, locomotives, freight and passenger railcars, with connecting transit centers to highways, waterways, and airports, to improve fuel-efficiency and locomotive emissions reduction. The City of Wenatchee, Chelan County, Washington has the determination to foster railway programs and services to work towards improving all kinds of railway commerce, protecting the city's environment, and furthering State of Washington railway economy.

    AS PART OF WENATCHEE'S RAILWAY EFFORTS,the city has announced initiative to reverse the growing dependence on oil by developing all transportation technology and services (including railway services). To produce commercially accepted bio fuels, encourage the development hydrogen fuel cells, to power the new generation of automobiles and trucks with no air pollution emissions. The City's new policy commitment make railway transportation possible for new and emerging business opportunities to be recognized, that allow the citizens of Seattle great flexibility in freight and passenger choices, methods and vehicles of transportation, whether by engineering design of automobiles, passenger ship and boats, airplane or railway services.

    "CREATE DECLARATION SPECIFIC TO YOUR COMMUNITY"

    WHEREAS, the United States of America has made a considerable financial commitment to expanding the nation’s high-speed and intercity passenger rail (HSIPR) network, appropriating $4 billion in FY-09 for both state corridor development efforts and Amtrak state of good repair investments in the FY-10 Consolidated Appropriations Act; and

    WHEREAS, the President and Vice-President announced in January 2010 an additional $8 billion in American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) awards for 13 corridors in 31 states. (YOUR STATE) being granted (YOUR STATE FUNDING) million for (YOUR COMMUNITY) High Speed Rail Services including public and private funds being awarded to (YOUR COMMUNITY) Station Renovation Project as historical place of interest.

    WHEREAS, the Federal Railroad Administration received applications requesting seven times the available funds for the HSIPR ARRA grants; and

    WHEREAS, developing this pipeline of national high-speed and intercity passenger rail projects will revitalize the domestic manufacturing industry and create additional American jobs building on the one million good-paying, middle-class creating American jobs that can never be off-shored already supported by the rail industry; and

    WHEREAS, Washington State and (YOUR COMMUNITY) ridership on Amtrak and private rail services grew every year from 2000 through 2008, and are on track in 2011 for its best ridership year ever, further demonstrating the increased demand for Washington State intercity passenger rail services; and

    WHEREAS, (YOUR COMMUNITY), (YOUR STATE)is highly populated region for Amtrak Services and Private rail infrastructure carry intercity passengers and (YOUR LOCAL COMMUNTER RAIL) to and (YOUR CITY) Light Rail from work in congested metropolitan areas, providing a reliable rail option while reducing congestion on roads and in the skies; and

    WHEREAS, Amtrak annually provides intercity passenger rail travel to over 25 million Americans residing in 46 states; and

    WHEREAS, for many rail line communities in America, Amtrak represents the only major intercity transportation link to the rest of the country; and

    WHEREAS, (YOUR COMMUNITY), (YOUR STATE) passenger rail provides a more fuel-efficient transportation system thereby providing cleaner transportation alternatives and energy security; and

    WHEREAS, when combined with all modes of transportation, passenger railroads emit only 0.2 percent of the travel industry’s total greenhouse gases and one freight train can move a ton of freight 457 miles on one gallon of fuel; and

    WHEREAS, in the City of (YOUR COMMUNITY), (YOUR STATE), long distance train ridership exceeds (YOUR STATISTIC) passengers, (YOUR INTRASTATE AMTRAK SERVICES ) exceeds (YOUR STATE STATISTICS) passengers, (YOUR STATE)Transit commuter Rail ridership rose (YOUR STATE STATISTICS) and light rail ridership exceeds (YOUR STATE STATISTICS) passengers got on and off the train at (YOUR CITY) Station.     WHEREAS, (YOUR COMMUNITY)Railroad Station is a source of civic pride, a gateway to (YOUR STATE) Rail Line Communities and Nations long distance trains, including connecting private rail services, including a tool for economic growth that creates transportation-oriented development and livable rail line communities; and

    WHEREAS, on May 10, 1869 the “golden spike” was driven into the final tie at Promontory Summit, Utah to join the Central Pacific and the Union Pacific Railroads, ceremonially completing the first transcontinental railroad and therefore connecting both coasts of the United States;

    BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that City of (YOUR COMMUNITY) recognizes and celebrates the pivotal role that a robust intercity passenger rail system can provide for better mobility for persons of all abilities; and

    BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that City of (YOUR COMMUNITY) will hold an event at (YOUR COMMUNITY), with railroad equipment exhibits and displays at specified location under existing local operating railroads for our community to commemorate this momentous day in railroad history and for our community.

    IN RECOGNITION OF CENTURY AND DECADES OF RAILWAY companies, business services, men and women who work in the railway transportation industry and who contributed to Wenatchee, Washington dynamic well-being, and the decades of economic growth.

    THE CITY OF WENATCHEE, WASHINGTON by joint resolution of this proclamation approved ________________________, has designated the first weekend in MAY each year as "Wenatchee National Train Day," and, by joint resolution this proclamation-approved Wenatchee National Train Day, as declared.

    NOW, THEREFORE, I, MAYOR OF WENATCHEE, Chelan County, Washington of the United States of America, do hereby proclaim first weekend of May, as Wenatchee National Train Day, of each year hereafter.

    I, ENCOURAGE ALL, Global and North American Continent People, Americans and Washington State Citizens to board any train and visit the Wenatchee, Washington," The Apple Capital Destination" to learn more about how our modern railway transportation system enhances our economy and contributes to our freedom of mobility.
