The Fort Ward Amateur Radio Critical Emergency Repeater Radio Communications Network/CERRCN, also known as Amateur Radio Public Safety Communications or Amateur Radio Repeater Group Relay Links (Relay Repeater Tower Antenna System), has become a mandate for amateur radio repeater linked relay requirement for many municipalities around the State and Country. The network essentially re-transmits fire or police and other critical emergency radio communication frequencies from FWARC Relay Repeater Tower Station, where the signal is presumably stronger, for regional communications where it is usually weaker or non-existent. These critical signals are imperative for first responders and amateur radio emergency communication repeaters to be able to communicate with during an emergency.

The National Disaster Medical System/NDMS is a federally coordinated disaster medical system and partnership of the United States Departments of Health and Human Services/HHS, Homeland Security/DHS, Defense/DOD, and Veterans Affairs/VA. The purpose of the NDMS is to support State Jurisdictions, local Communities, Tribal and Territorial authorities following disasters and emergencies by supplementing health and medical systems and response capabilities. NDMS would also support the military and the Department of Veterans Affairs health care systems in caring for combat casualties, should requirements exceed their capacity.
