MORSE CODE DAY AMATEUR RADIO STATIONS

Morse Code Day celebrates the invention of morse code and the electric telegraph machine. This special event was established on this date to honor Samuel Morse, who was born on April 27, 1791.

May 24th is known as “Morse Code Day” because the first official message was sent over the Baltimore-Washington telegraph line by Samuel F. B. Morse on May 24, 1844.

Morse Code Day has been designed to pay tribute to this traditional form of communication. This is a telecommunications method that was used for encoding.
