WASHINGTON HAS 74 PORTS IN 33 COUNTIES

The Fort Ward Amateur Radio Club/FWARC primary purpose is to create a Bainbridge Island, Eagle Harbor Port District in Washington State for the purpose of economic development of seaport marine acitivities and historical economic development, including community vitality, in order to build and operate:

1). Eagle Hardor Seaplane Base and Moorage,
2). Naval Ship Museum Terminals Facility,
3). "Re-Instating" Point White-Bremerton Passenger Ferry,
4). Civil Air Patrol Seaplane Squardon,
5). WWII Fort Ward Naval Radio Historical Museum Industrial Parks,
6). Promote Bainbridge Island Maritime Harbor Tourism and Commerce,
7). Youth and Community Programs and Services,
8). Not Limited Too.

Public port authorities are usually established to promote the flow of waterborne commerce and various types economic growth for maritime goods and service over waterways. Port authority or port district activities may also include jurisdiction over:

  • Passenter Ship or Tour Boat Terminals,
  • Airport and Seaports,
  • Ferry Instrastructures and Services,
  • Docks and Landings Restoration,
  • Bridges,
  • Tunnels,
  • Commuter and Historical Rail Systems,
  • Inland River or Shallow Draft Barge Terminals,
  • Industrial Parks,
  • Foreign Trade Zones,
  • World Trade Centers,
  • Short-line Railroads Terminal,
  • Shipyards,
  • Dredging,
  • Marinas,
  • Other Public Recreational Facilities,
